Down syndrome. Many people think of this as a barrier or obstacle in a persons life. Whether that life is the one who is diagnosed or the lives of his/her loved ones. Scientifically, Down syndrome is when a person has a partial of full extra copy of chromosome 21. Physically, Down syndrome is the upward slant of the eyes, low muscle tone, and small stature. Emotionally, Down syndrome is a blessing in disguise. About 6,000 babies are born with Down syndrome each year in the United States, to be specific, one out of every 700 babies are born with Down syndrome. I am dedicating this blog to Down syndrome in hopes to spread the word of how important it is to support all the beautiful humans who have been diagnosed with Down syndrome. The goal is to include everyone as if they have no differences than you, inclusion for people with Down syndrome is so important to the worlds growth. Im excited to share about many different organizations and ways to get involved as I build my blog, as well as share about my personal experiences with Down syndrome with my younger brother, Max, who is the star of the blog and in all the pictures, and many others.
